Utah Chapter

Mari Hobson Fight Like a Girl Utah DirectorThe Fight Like A Girl Foundation of Utah is based in Cedar City where Director Marijeanne Hobson resides with her husband, Curtis, and four children. Mari has extensive experience in event planning and served as the executive director of the Miss Iron County Pageant within the Miss Utah/Miss America System for 6 years and from that found her love of serving the community around her. She loves music and sang professionally for 10 years including at the Venetian Hotel in Las Vegas as well as various other professional productions. However, she has found her place as an advocate for individuals fighting to survive a debilitating disease that has affected their family.

Having 4 kids of her own, Mari will be the first to say that as a mother she cannot comprehend the incredible strength that she has witnessed among the families she works with and because of that has devoted every spare moment that she has to fight right along side with them. She recently received the Red Cross Humanitarian of the Year Award for her work with her own nonprofit organization that benefits pediatric cancer patients and their families. While she is profoundly grateful to not know first hand the agony associated with watching a loved one fight for their life, she believes that she cannot ask of another what she herself is not willing to do for them now.

She hopes that at the very least, she can inspire others to discover what the power of one is really capable of. Mari’s message to others is “Go out….find somewhere that needs you, and get to work”.
